Seeing a new dentist can feel a little nerve-racking, especially if it has been a while. Here is a clear picture of what your first visit with us looks like, so nothing catches you off guard.
Before Your Appointment
A few things that make the visit go faster:
- Fill out your new patient forms ahead of time (online or at the office)
- Bring your insurance card and photo ID
- Write down any medications you take
- Arrive about 15 minutes early to check in
During Your Visit
Welcome
Our front desk team greets you and gets you settled. Ask us anything about the office or what to expect.
A Full Exam
Your first visit usually includes:
- A review of your dental and medical history
- Digital X-rays, which use a low dose of radiation (ADA, MouthHealthy)
- A careful look at your teeth, gums, and bite
- An oral cancer screening
- A check of your jaw joints and muscles
Your Findings and a Plan
We go over what we found in plain language, answer your questions, and build a plan that fits your needs and budget. Nothing gets decided without talking it through with you first.
A Cleaning
If time allows and your gums are healthy, we may clean your teeth the same day.
